We stayed on the beautiful island resort of the Velassaru Maldives, twenty minutes from the mainland Male. We were transported by boat from the airport to the island. We stayed in a water villa with a pool and deck which was a villa on stilts with a mini infinity pool overlooking the turquoise ocean - magnifique!
Velassaru is a self contained white-sandy island with five restaurants and two bars, an exquisite rejuvenating spa - also on stilts with a Maldivian seascape, water sports (diving, gliding, snorkelling etc.), and lots of other activities.
The service on the resort was impeccable! During our stay, we were hosted to a candlelit and starlit romantic dinner at the Sand restaurant on the beach courtesy of the hotel :-) A truly mesmerising experience!
Velassaru Maldives is highly recommended! can't wait to go back! :-)
