A European Tour?

So maybe not quite a european tour, only visited a couple of cities in europe:

London

It's really odd visitng London now having lived there for so long! I have to say I prefer being a tourist especially during this recession and economic downturn! so depressing! Anyhow, it was nice to do all the things one used to do: shopping, running in the park, eating out, riding and more shopping!

I did do something different which was Tea at the Ritz! It was fantastic! highly recommended! I absolutely loved all the goodies, especially the scones, jam and clotted cream hmmm! Needless to say, I was stuffed afterwards! So now I've done Claridges, Ritz so next destination will be the Dorchester!

Paris
Paris! J'aime a Paris!! This was a great trip! It was so different from my normal visits. Stayed in the Montparnasse area but hung out in St. Germain des Pres, which I absolutlely adore! It is such a fab area, very trendy! Did evreything there, lunch, shopping, coffee, cinema, dinner, drinks etc. I liked the odeon area too.

Cannes
The beautiful city of cannes! Still amazing! Havent been here since 2002 I think! I can't believe it! Where as the time gone??!? I was here for the content marche in the palais des festival, which was huge (apparently smaller this year b

ecause of the global crisis but didnt seem like it!). Stayed at the Carlton Intercontinetal -also very nice! And attended the HiTV party on Mandola Beach with Asa and Dj Humility! Great fun!

Parisien Lifestyle...

Bank holiday weekend was spent in Pari! romantic city of Pari! avec mes seours et les efants. We stayed at the Hotel du Sers on Av Pierre 1er de Serbie, next to the hotel George V (Four Seasons) on rue George V. It was a fun relaxing weekend meeting up with friends, shopping on the Champs Elysees, Lunching and Dinning (Fouquet and Pizza Pino on the Champs Elysees, 'Asian' on George V - brilliant!), hanging out in cafes in the Parisien sunshine absorbing the ambience, speaking francais (getting rustier by the minute), admiring fashionistas, and watching the world go by, and to top it off - splendid Spa treatments at the hotel Geroge V - out of this world and of course highly recommended! Great pampering session!

More and more shopping at Le Bon Marche department store on rue de Sevres in St Germain des Pres. Drinks/Dinner in the moonlight / at candle light at the Ciel de Paris on the 56th floor of the tallest building in Montparnasse Paris, with an amazing view of Paris and the Tour Eiffel (which sparkles every hour) - tres romantique pour deux hmmmm.....

Vivre La France!

Another visit to the beautiful city of Paris - the city of love! arhhhhh! yuck!

Anyway, this visit was for fun as well as for the Paris Marathon, and before you ask, No I was not in the marathon but my friend was and I was there to support, eating croissants on the sideline (i'm such a great friend!:) )

On this trip, I stayed with friends near rue falguiere in the Montparnasse area (for intellects apparently) - very nice area, full of young active people.

A Parisenne visit would not be complete without a visit to the grand Champs Elysees! Which is where the marathon kicked off as well!

J'aime a Paris

Paris the beautiful romantic capital of France, is one city that is worth visiting. People say (or should I say my parents and their friends say) - "...see Paris and die...." with a smile on your face.....

I've been to Paris many times, but this is a short brief (or email) to a friend planning to visit:

Near the Place de l'opera, you can do loads of shopping and a bit of culture (by visiting the Opera). In this area, you will find the famous Galleries Lafayette and Printemps and some other shops. There are also restaurants and cafes here. You can stay at the Intercontinental (Grand Hotel) - with a very nice restaurant and cafe facing the opera, or Hotel Scribe. Both hotels are a bit pricey but very beautiful and are situated on Rue Scribe.

The Champs Elysees is where most tourists visit. It's a long wide stretch with loads of restuarants, cafes, shops and cinemas. On one end of it, you'll find the Arc de Triomphe and on the other end, you'll find Place de la Concorde and the Lourve musuem (where you can see the Original Mona Lisa), there is also theTuilleries Garden. The Tour Eiffel is also in walking distance from the Champs Elysees. Make sure you go on a cruise on La seine (river), try the Bateaux Mouche cruise boats. There are many hotels in the Champs Elysees area (you can try one of the Best Westerns - basic, central & affordable)
