Milano

My second flying visit to Milan! I was only here for a few days to do some shopping with my mum! Also went to Vicenza for a day trip by train, no direct trains so had to change at this remote station in the middle of no where and the loos were lietrally 'holes' in the ground, literally! Wouldn't have expected that for Italy! and they say Africa is backwards, hmmm...

Anyway, I was a proper tourist on my first trip. Stayed with my cousin who was working in Milan at the time. Milan is the cosmopolitan, fashion and design capital of Italy! The capital of the region of Lombardy apparently. It is also very industrious, so you can just imagine! The Milanese are soo fashion concious! so trendy! they look so good - all the time (quite sickening), even the bus drivers look sharp!

Must do: Visit the Duomo, a massive gothic church in Piazza Duomo; shopping at famous Italian labels Gucci, Prada, Tods at the Quadrilatero d'Oro (Golden Quad) between Piazza Duomo, Piazza Cavour and Piazza San Babila; lunching in cafes (must try some italian coffees), dining in some great restaurants with fantasic food (they eat late too!); Galleria Vittorio Emanuele - very impressive! and great bars and night-life at the Latin quarter of Brera -great in the summer!

Next visit must see the Santa Maria delle Grazie - which houses the Last Supper by Leonardo da Vinci.....
