Isle of Man

I went on a day trip to see some family friends on the beautiful Isle of Man. The Isle of Man lies on the Irish sea between England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland - west of Lancashire coastline. It's very scenic, green and windy! It's got great beaches and architecture ( alot like many English sea side towns). It is truly a great location for a weekend get/hideaway with an enviable relaxed pace of life. It's capital is the port and town of Douglas - the hub of Island activity. The Isle of Man is an independent Kingdom with its own Parliament, language (Manx) and currency! A great tax haven! The three legs man is the Island's symbol of Independence (creepy if you ask me) meaning Quocunque Jeceris Stabit 'Whichever way you throw me I stand'.

Funny photo from a beach cafe:

Highlights of trip would be the Island's remarkable Victorian transport system Isle of Man Steam Railway, Manx Electric Railway and Douglas horse trams.....
