Welcome to George Best Belfast City Airport!

(That's what you see when you arrive in Belfast city for the 1st time! George one of our own - Man U!)

Belfast city is a beautiful up and coming city! I love Belfast and would definitely recommend it! It's full of soo much potential, and it's still developing. I was here for work for 4 weeks staying at the Hilton Riverside on Lanyon place - pretty central next to the river and the city centre (also walking distance to work - fab!)

Belfast, Nothern Ireland, part of Great Britain and United Kingdom, they can be referred to as 'Bri-irish' as someone told me - a bit of Irish and a bit of British, very friendly people although somewhat difficult to understand - it must have been the accent :-). It is a very peaceful city, the days of the IRA are long gone (I think most people were still worried I might get caught in a war zone...nah!), and plenty of development taking place (lots of money and investments being pumped into the city, potential for many global companies in the future..???).

It has quite a few trendy restaurants such as 'Gingeroot' on Great Victoria St, 'Speranza' on Shaftesbury Square and 'La Tasca' in the Odyssey Pavilion; bars such as The Potthouse on Hill Street; it has all the main stream high street shops including some cool exclusive boutiques such as 'Liberty Blue' - great place to find unique things. The City Hall is the main Victorian architecture in the centre of town, and it is quite impressive, so is the Opera house and The Waterfront Hall. Didn't do anything on the tourist side i'm afraid, no city tours or museums but I do know they have a lot on offer, including StGeorge's market - where one can find anything foodwise on a Friday, and a 2-hour train trip to Dublin in the Republic of Ireland (real Irish) - nearly got to go but plans changed at the last minute! Something to do with Old Trafford me thinks.......

(p.s. played footy at the leisure centre - exhilarating!)
